Hiking at Turkey Run!

My goodness am I pooped! I hadn't been to Turkey Run since I was I believe 13 or 14 years old. I don't recall the ladders being so scary! Or having to scale the paths here or there. Of course I believed I was indestructible back then. Bugs didn't bother me all that much, heights, the unknown and leaping over small paths of water. Seeing the park thru the girls eyes was very cool!

We got there about 12ish and ate some lunch then set out for the most important part! The bathrooms! After a quick dash there we were on our way to adventure! Now I have been exercising and doing P90X so what challenge couldn't I handle? Right?

Factor in having a tiny human strapped to my back! LOL! I hadn't given too much thought about this. By about 10 mins into the hike, while climbing stairs and a hill to get to the top of a ridge I was dripping sweat!(Notice the sweat around my neck! I know gross! I sweat at the drop of a hat!

My gosh my face looks HUGE in this picture Is my head really that big?!

At this point in the hike, my calves were screaming and dare I mention if I kept up that kind of work out my bum would probably look awesome! (Remember this is ONLY 10 MINS INTO IT! LOL!) I start second guessing myself whether this was a good idea or not...

Did I mention my fear of heights! Luckily I had a few ladies and men give me a hand at the ladders going down.

Next time I will bring an extra adult pair of hands, it would have been nice to switch off with the baby. Missed having Terry with! Thinking a camp weekend will be in order since there were a few places on the hike we didn't get to.

I was surprised at how gutsy they were! Climbing, jumping, scaling walls, and taking chances!
When did I lose my thrill gene?

On the way back we did stop in Attica, IN, which is a neat little town. I would have liked to have explored the town more if I didn't feel so exhausted.

We caught abit of the Potawami Fair, we didn't stay too long, I was hoping there would be more Indian type of things, seemed a little too commercialized for my taste. But it was still a nice place to visit!
All in all it was a fun day! I loved what team work the girls used with each other and others!

Now that we are home it's time to put up our hooves and relax...

Now where is the Captain Morgan and 7?

Aging UGH!!

"How old is your grandson?"
"How many grandchildren do you have?"
"Is this your first grandchild?"

GGGRRRR FACE!!!

The horrible truth is that I am old enough to be a GRANDMA! UGH! I am not attacking anyone my age that is a Grandparent already, but I don't feel old yet. I feel silly to skip from time to time in public, sing out loud and dance in the aisle randomly! SIGH!

In my mind I still see my grandparents, greying/salt & pepper hair, slightly wrinkly and a fond smell of old person (not nasty just like older types of perfumes/cologne). NOT ME!

I went to the mall in Ohio and I, "OOOO'd and AAHHH'd" at several stores that I loved! I shuffled through the racks (I don't go shopping much except thrift stores, Walmart and if I'm feeling daring Target or fancy, Kohl's), I shuffle and shuffle and shuffle through racks and racks...

There are no sizes over size 10 in many of the stores. L or XL? Fat chance! No pun! HA!
My shoulders slumped over as I watched smooth, bouncy, no cellulite, or wrinkle teeny boppers squeak and squeal as they found the same shirt and other clothing that I sadly rummaged through.

I saw a few Mom's like me, wearing baggy clothes to hide that unsightly tummy and the bumps that seem to attack the back of my legs like tiny soldiers puffing up under my skin here or there. Hey, no it's not pretty! Stretch marks have taken over many parts of my body that I didn't know existed!

And what's with the hair that has sprouted up on it's own on my chin, face and half a dozen other places!

I went to Cinnabon to drown my woes of feeling old. Looking at my sleeping baby in his stroller, lucky for him that he isn't seeing me like this. When did I stop being cool? Where did those lines around my mouth come from? Those white hairs on my head seem to have popped up overnight! Crow's feet?! Heck I have a nest on the sides of my eyes! SIGH!

Oh and don't even get me started when I wave my arms. The arm jiggle is quite happy on my arms. EWWW!

My diet? I started the 17 day diet but stopped not only did I lose 6 days but I did read that it's not good to do while I'm nursing. Which brings me to my boobs! I bent over and saw them in the mirror and cringed! What the heck happened to those things? They used to be so smooth and perky...

So back to Ohio... I saw a gorgeous looking woman about my age, with flawless skin, boobs up to her neck (I'm sure they aren't real or she has never had kids), clothes that were crisp (no baby drool or stains from cleaning liquids), perfume and trendy. I threw out my Cinnabon, I totally lost my appetite.

I took both of us back to the car, dragging my emotional sorry butt to the hotel. And feeling so down for myself. I did bring a few dresses with to get dressed up for my favorite guy. I admit after a shower, crying, and feeling sorry for myself, I ended up feeling better. I checked myself out in the mirror and was happy with what I saw.

The dress covered the imperfections of my cottage cheese and the thigh rub thing I got going on. I had splurged a month ago and bought a push-up bra so the girls looked good! I added some powder to my face to help with the blotches that sprang up a few years ago, threw on some bling, heels and was out the door. I felt even better when I arrived to see him and he had the biggest smile on his face. And told me how good I looked. BIG CHEESY GRIN!

I mentioned the mini melt down later. Oh I left out several parts. I whined enough. I am getting older, I had my first toothache today, which means my first cavity, not bad considering I am 40. I decided to just let my hair go white or grey or whatever it wants to do. It's silly to see women in they're 60's, 70's or older with completely blond or dark hair. (How old is Nancy Pelosi?)

I will continue to exercise, it has been helping some. I would have to say that a tummy tuck is something I want to have after I'm done having children (One more please!). And possibly a boob job? That is still debatable!

So! When you see me next time, I promise not to think about my vanity or feel bad about growing older.

Just don't call me Grandma yet!

Feeling fuzzy and dreary

I think it's the weather but I'm pretty bummed lately, could be Mercury or some other planet is in retrograde or that maybe I am just super consumed with worries. Court with STBX, or police investigation for STBX not going anywhere or news our son (M) is having more seizures again and there is nothing I can do to help because of STBX. (*see my story on my other blog)

On the bright side I did start Etsy and made a few bucks! I have 2 job leads and an interview on Thursday! I am still working out on P90X! I have just started Week 4, I actually thought of doing doubles of the workout or incorporating an older workout~ Yoga, booty, ballet, Turbojam or Walking with Lesile Sansone. But, I am so pooped after the P90X workout I don't see me doing it right now. I was planning on doing some glittering today but we will see, feeling kind of humdrum...

Day 9 P90X!

YEA ME! I can't believe I made it through week one! LOL! BOOYEA! I notice a difference already! My diet can use some polishing up. I am thrilled to actually feel really good right now. I do feel really tired though. I talked to someone on a P90x board that says I may not be eating enough! YIKES! I am still nursing so my calories are being eaten up with that, and that could be leading me to feeling sluggish and tired. Of course I am hungrier then I am nursing! What's up with that! I'm pretty happy with myself!

I am drinking water, water, water and running to the bathroom on a regulary basis. That's all fine with me! I have been neglecting both my crafts and I'm afraid I have been pushing off posting anywhere to make a $. I am in the process of divorce (I mentioned in previous blog post) with an Emergency hearing super soon! Needless to say this has me in a tizzy and flurry of phone calls, emails and searching the web for support and help. I am in a dire need of a glue stick and glitter break!

Little one is growing like a weed! Can you say "Army crawl?" Hold on to your butts, little one has gone mobile! LOL! If he is not rolling, he's army crawling! It's funny of course all the fun begins now! He is sitting on his own accord now as well, much to the delight of my sister that came to visit us last Saturday. She was just tickled pink!

So my P.O.A. tomorrow is to do some sort of craft and I will post pictures! I was working on some Mod Podging words on rocks that we found on the lake last year. With a dash of glitter of course! I may do something this evening I know it's late but I am finding it hard to sleep. Off for now!

No glitter or glue for me today!

I started my P90X and exercise journey one week today! I decided I really hate my abs! I did like today's workout of Shoulders and Arms though! I think I can! I think I can!  Ok that picture to the right is not me! I'm just hoping to lose 10 lbs! Wishful thinking of the above! Lots of work to get that buff. I know I have a 6 pack hiding under my 12 pack! Really! GIGGLE!

I am reminding myself of the Little black dress I promised myself for
Terry's nieces wedding in June.

Seriously though...I have been so dogged tired and achy that I don't have strength to get my craft boxes down from the closet, LOL! I have things I thought about doing but have put them off for lack of sleep and being achy. My sister is coming by tomorrow to take me to the County building (long story see recap on my other blog) and maybe we can do a little glitter and glue! Oh I'll have to see if she can wear her anklet to take a picture of!

I promised my neighbor that I would make Broccoli Cheese soup for their lunch so I'm off to cook! I do have the recipe posted in an earlier blog...

Wish my luck on Day 4 of P90X and that I actually am able to move by tomorrow. HAHAHA!
Just us goofing around, I picked up a new camera, no bells or whistle's or fancy. Just alot more upgraded then my other camera. I'm pretty excited to use it! I was recalling my first camera, when I was 12 or so years old, was a 110 and gosh I took pictures of everything under the sun!

Look what I made and things you never wanted to know about me...

My sister came over last Friday and we had a wonderful craft day! I kidded her about how many projects I finished compared to hers but I'll share a secret... I LOVE HERS! I should have took pictures! She made a beautiful pink and silver bracelet with silver bells! I was so jealous! I like beading but I have no patience at all.  I threw together a cupcake stand, about 12 pins from stickers I spotted at Walgreens some time ago, a coffee filter pin, a pin from a crocheted flower (not crocheted by me I have to learn how to do that! You tube here I come!) and I blinged up a vintage card that I had gotten ages ago. We had fun and hope to do it again maybe this Friday again! I love's me some glitter! YEA!

I also did exercise last week and boy was I sore. I have Yoga, booty, ballet, Turbo Jam and I found a Billy Banks Jr. Fitness show On-demand (FREEEE!!!). I couldn't even laugh without my abs hurting on Friday! So I took a day off, ate like there was no tomorrow and started again this week with P90X.

Oh my gosh I hate Crunchy Frogs, Push-ups and Pull-ups. I think Tony Horton is horrible! (Just kidding!I like him bunches!) I have bad wrists (injury from STBX over time and a car accident) I will be looking for modifications for the exercises. So I'm hoping to lose about 10 lbs realistically. Right now I am at 178 and 5'5. I like to believe I carry it well, oh and I am in a perpetual suck in with my tummy!

TMI: I loathe Tummy shapers (Gridles!) They end up showing my rolls on my back and my thighs. So I have a tendency to wear alot of long shirts and jeans. Oh boy more then you wanted to know right? Sorry for running off on a tangent! I'll get back to the subject of what I made with pictures! Have a great day!
