Antiquing in Downstate Indiana!

I headed back up North after a short visit from my Bestie. I wish the visit could have been longer but I'm sure I will see him soon. On the way down to Indy I saw a billboard for Countryside Antique Mall in Thorntown, IN.

WAHOO!

A nice way to stretch out my legs and flex my bum (sorry to be graphic). This place was very cool! More antique things here then Beanie Babies or other random new collectibles. I was not disappointed! I felt bad that I didn't bring my good camera and I didn't take enough pictures.

So many lovely things! If you are ever traveling down 65 South/65 North and pass by Rte 52, stop by you won't be disappointed! There was a bunch of Carnival glass, antique/vintage books, lovely prim's... I was in Heaven.

This Guardian Angel picture was so adorable! 

I don't know why this box tickled me. Perhaps because of the thrills that it boasts. 

I've never had thrilling sweets myself. LOL!

To dang adorable child's cabinet! Looked like original glass and the applique 

on the bottom were still pretty decent. CUTE! 

I couldn't resist this little ensemble  below the cabinet above. The baby booties and the planter were so adorable! The baby bracelet in the lower corner was precious! 

This is a floral picture done with Ribbons! The picture does not do it justice. The colors were either faded from age or perhaps it was just the pale colors used but it spoke to me!

 

I'm not usually a Doll person but these 2 were lovely. I can imagine some little girl playing with them. Hosting a tea party or dancing with them. My girls were never into dolls so I sort of missed that phase.

 

This little display was a reminder for me that Easter is around the corner!

Most enjoyable time. I took about a half hour to cruise on in and out. Mainly because Mini Man was less then thrilled at how much time I was taking looking around. I also had the stroller which is HUGE, so I couldn't maneuver as freely as I wanted to. I still had a nice look...

More antique adventures in Ohio!

Terry discovered a few antique shops that he couldn't wait to take me to! Oh he was not kidding when he said my jaw would drop! Heart of Ohio Antiques did not fail to stop me in my tracks! I, oh'd and ah'd while we looked over thousands of items! I kid you not! It was so mind blowing! Things from the 1800's, Europe, Africa, Civil War, World War I and II! You name it I am almost certain they had it. After 2 hours we didn't finish going through the mall due to being extremely hungry and pooped. We did manage to go to another antique shop but it was nothing compared to the first.

Kalven was really into looking at everything, but like most 11 months old he quickly grew tired and cranky! LOL!

This booth is really "Plain!" LOL! Sorry I couldn't help myself!

Seriously?!  Cholorophyll gum! I know this didn't last long!

Ohio Antique shops

Back from Ohio! Had a bunch of fun checking out antique shops and sightseeing  spots. And of course a lovely time seeing my favorite guy! Of course missing the heck out of him right now.

On his days off we were able to stop off at quite a few interesting places that sold a vast array of collectibles and antique items! Many of the homes in the area of Dublin/Columbus are breathtaking, quaint and have old world charm.

The Powell businesses were all very lovely, friendly and worth a trip back to see!

Powell Liberty Antique Mall had the most interesting older pieces of off beat finds. Some kind of creepy and others too cute.

Blackberry Patch featured a phenomenal amount of eye candy I have seen in a antique shop! The assortment of shiny things took my breath away!

Paris Flea Market had me drooling over the fabulous sea side displays and they had me longing for a home of my own to put these lovely treasures in! Very chic and upscale items that were at reasonable prices and oh so charming! http://aparisfleamarket.blogspot.com/

Westerville had a few neato antique shops and one really cool, this town was a great stumble!
I was really taken with A Gal named Cindy Lou! The awesome 50's, 60's and 70's throw back's took me back to a time when things were simple and so laid back. Loved this family owned business! Would love to go back! http://www.cindalou.org/A_Gal_Named_Cinda_Lou/Welcome.html

There was also...

The Greater Columbus Antique Mall! Oh my gosh! 5 floors of glory! Rich with a interesting history of highly interesting and cool antique treasures. Our feet hurt and we definately had a full morning of checking out nifty finds from way back! The history of the mall is also very neato and spooky! Loved this!

And of course we stopped at several other spots along the way, here or there and throughly enjoyed spying wonderful items from yesteryear...
