A Farm Girl I am not!

I have been slacking here and on my other blogs, email and so on... We are helping someone revamp an old Farmhouse! EEECCKKK!!! Yes, I'm in love with the country life, but a Farm Girl I am not!

The overwhelming ideas in my head swirling from homesteading someday is so tremendous! I am giddy with anticipation of having a home again someday. Even though it will probably be a rental place due to the great never ending divorce saga, my credit took a nose dive when I left due to Soon to be ex, not paying a darn thing. Bye-bye went the house to the bank and everything else! But that's my other blog! Happy stuff or at least none Crazy man things here!

Hedge Apples! I have a texture fetish and love how these feel and look, they smell great and are supposed to keep various bugs away.
This little gnome was aching for a picture! I found him in a barn and he was so darn cute!
I really dig this old sink!
Great old hooks Terry found upstairs!

 Random Mini Man shot!
I've fancied so many ideas from pinterest that my storage on the computer is chock full of things I can't wait to do!

God bless my little Kitchen

I was checking my mail today and found this on hillbillyhousewife.com 's newsletter for this week. I have a fascinated with the late 1800's and early 1900's. I admit I'm not a Farm Girl but Homesteading has held a deep interest for me for a long time. I am enchanted with old dusty things, getting my hands dirty(except worms I just can't handle worms) and a fondness for what seems like simpler times. This seemed so fitting today for me!

God Bless My Little Kitchen
~ M. Peterson, circa 1944 ~

God bless my little kitchen,
I love its every nook,
And bless me as I do my work,
Wash pots and pans and cook.

And may the meals that I prepare
Be seasoned from above
With Thy great blessings and Thy grace,
But most of all Thy love.

As we partake of earthly food,
The table before us spread,
We’ll not forget to thank Thee, Lord,
Who gives us daily bread.

So bless my little kitchen, God,
And those who enter in,
May they find naught but Joy and Peace,
And Happiness therein.

OK, I admit it! None of those kitchens are mine... I'm on a wishful house kick! Our apartment kitchen is tiny. I think I have a few pictures on here. God bless my tiny kitchen and yours!

Fall time and Birthday wishes!

This is my favorite time of year. It's not too hot or too super cold but just right to me! I enjoy hearing the crunch of the leaves as I walk through fallen leaves, the smell of Fall is smoky, woodsy and incredible to me. In the spirit of the season I found a great deal on Fall sprays at Michael's. Got out my glue gun and a wreath I have had tucked away for YEARS! And away I went...
Leftover fabric from The Parachute project! I cut 1" strips (Guesstimate) to wrap around the wreath and to use as a hanger!

Fiddling around before I secured it in place

This picture does not do it justice! I needed to fluff and mess around with it a bit more. I ended up cranking out a few more projects, a candle ring (Need a taller candle) and a Birthday gift for my Lil' sister, Ashley, she turns 21 on Saturday!

This was her first Baby shoe! I blinged it up with antiqued rose buds, pearls, purple organza ribbon, spanish moss, and I secured a ring on the top! (I can't take credit for the ring) Dad, Mom and Ash were in tears! She's grown into a beautiful woman! She is a model, actress, and student right now.
She ROCKS!

My girls of course scoped out the ice cream!
Mini Man is a tired and tuckered out guy! He fell asleep on the way home.

Happy Fall! Hope to grab my glue gun again soon!

Butler's Pantry! SQUEAL!

Oh my gosh! I want a house! We are in an apartment building and well the owners frown on you taking on your own remodeling, GIGGLE! I couldn't help myself when looking at old Farmhouses, how can one forget that many moons ago they had Butlers!

VIOLA! For your viewing pleasure! (Oh now this isn't to say I haven't forgotten those wedding pictures! I found a bunch more ideas for the future Hub's and I).

I am so fascinated with metal, I adore many of the handles and knobs from kitchens and baths. Of course it's hard not to find anything I don't like!

Tin countertop! So very cool!

Oh this one makes me HAPPY! Not sure why it brings a smile to my face but I do like this one!
I like the "Safe look" to this one!
I like the little CUBBIES on top!
Oh the lace curtains on this one are just a rod on the other side! Super easy!
What a great idea for one's pots! My pots look nothing like these, they are very well used and I do have a bunch of Cast Iron pots and pans that would never work hanging like this. SAD FACE!

I really like the Robin's Egg color of this one! How orderly and tidy! Gosh please don't look under my cabinets now! It's scary!

White makes everything look so clean and it's so pretty! I like the cabinet over the door!
Love the handles on this one!

Love the handles and old sink! Cubbies on top, NEATO!

SIGH! Very cool! And what big Butler Pantrys! Many look like my current kitchen can fit into them!
